Default Eotn speedbooking question

Must the campaign be completed beforehand? I have unlocked all outposts, have finished Against the Charr [first speedbooking mish], have curse of the nornbear lined up ready to go [second], and have ctc unlocked for A time for heroes. I guess my question is, even though I haven't completed the story up to A Time For Heroes, I know I don't get the standard rewards and points, but do I get the recognition of completing it, so I can put it into a HM book?

I don't really get what you are asking...

However, you can't do a mission in NM and then transfere it to HM. You must do the mission in HM with the HM book equipped for it to count. The same with NM books.

But, if you complete a mission without the book, you can go to some guy to fill it in for you, for a fee. However, if you completed it in NM, you can only fill the NM book. The same for HM.

Once you complete a time for heroes, you've completed eotn. So I'm a little confused with what you're trying to say... It takes about 2/3 minutes to do, so it's not like a massive obstacle in your way.

If you're asking whether these missions go towards an HM book, as long as you've completed eotn with one character, you can access HM.

If you're asking if leaving out a time for heroes will work with an HM book, 3 missions is the bare minimum. If you've completed another one out of random then you're fine.

I suggest you just kill the great destroyer

I now do realize the confusion that would be generated from my question. It was;

Can (If I already have HM EOTN unlocked from a previous char) I get speedbooks done with A Time For Heroes on this char, If I have not completed the missions up to it?

Thanks anyway, through in game questions I now realise I can.

You can do HM books as long you have HM unlocked on your char which is doing those. So if you have completed EotN already with other char you have unlocked HM to EotN, all you need to do is to get your speedbooking char to lvl 20 to get HM for it too to be able to get HM books.

How did you reach the CTC if you haven't completed the missions up to it?

Just join a party that need or is doing destruction depths. That's how you get to the CTC without having to do the previous missions

yes you can get to ctc w/o doing the other missions but as far as i know you cant get into atfh w/o doing them unless they have changed it. i would recomend trying to enter that mission if you can then it will work if you cant then you will have to do the other missions.
hope this helps

You can do missions in eotn without doing the quests leading up to it, but as soon as you enter the mission, you will get a message. Something like: "You are experiencing the storyline out of order. You can still do this mission, but you won't get any reward for doing it." I imagine that it won't be added to your Hero's Handbook either. Why don't you just try it out?

Just to be sure, did you actually try it out? You say you have ctc unlocked already. Doing the mission would take around 1 minute (speedbooking perma with 3 bonders). Do you have the definite answer?

I did try it out. Turns out you have to complete Destruction's Depths to do A Time For Heroes (part of speedbook). Hence, completing the game anyway *sigh*. Still not sure if Heart of the Shiverpeaks is needed though. An answer would be appreciated.

To do A Time For Heroes quest you need to have the Central Transfer Chamber unlocked. To get to the Chamber, you have to do Destrutction's Depth. To be able to get this quest, you have to go to the Heart of Shiverpeaks.

Simple as that.

It seems, that the char you want to do speedbooking with has not yet finished Eotn (meaning not yet reached the Central Transfer Chamber), therefore, you must do the quest chain above.

Did you actually read the thread?

1. Characters who haven't done anything in eotn can get to CTC by joining a group who is doing DD (at least one person in that group has to have done all quests and missions leading up to DD).

2. This does not help for speedbooking purposes as (finally confirmed in the post above yours) doing missions out of order will not add them to the Hero's Handbook.

Thanks for confirming castroman101.

Yes, you will have to do every primary quest and mission in eotn before ATFH will be counted or it will always remain "You are doing this mission out of order you won't get rewards".
